My top 3 Music Videos Tre!

Steel Panther-Death to all but metal!

this music video is actually suprisingly well made taken into account its CRAZYNESS which is one of its appealing factors! it has proven very popular with a suprisingly large crowd of people it certainly has a unique art style very insulting and very crazy specific elemants would include the build up where you view the only metal head in a typical sceniaro of a american high school who is asked the question "what is the most important music genre in the 20th century and dont say heavy metal"which kick starts the whole thing the way steel panther dress reminds me of something along the lines of glam rock but either way its certainly there own style taking leaves of everything to make there own odd but kind of awsome crazy sauce video.
the music video conventions would include visually interpreting the lyrics of the song as the singer continues to insult other bands whilst ripping down pictures of them from the wall and making profound signs towards the camera as well as extending the songs meaning in a very blunt way by litterally insulting all others that make allusions to other actually metal artists as they mention in the song "where is def leopard where is motley crew?"  one of the wining factors of this video for me has to be the editing it cuts constnatly but seemlessly from a stage filled with lights to a classroom going about doing crazy wierd things with dancers and even a few famous actors jump on the crazy bandwagon it includes two narrative scenes at the start of the video and at the end when hes talking to the we assume pricinple of the school.

My Top 3 Music Videos Due!

Shipping up to boston - Dropkick Murphys

second on the list is dropkick murphys it features a highly nattrive driven video which suits the style of the music played it starts of with a showing of bagpipes and typical scenes  in boston then moves on to some poor bloke getting mugged then chucked off a fence into a ditch it then moves onto the band memebers meeting up with some of there mates and then jumps straight to a cut of the band playing we see several other gang memeber esk scenes which lead on the narrative with cuts back to the band as the story progresses eventually we see two gangs clashing and eventually getting arrested after chasing down one of the band members. it deffineatly has the "dropkick" style irish styled music to irish themed gang violance which has proven popular with alot of people celtic music as its referd to for some unknown reason has seen the rise and fall of very popular bands some one hit wonders but one above the rest has to be dropkick murphys who are one of the most popular bands on youtube and other media networks.
conventions used would include narrative without doudt the entire video is driven by it i would also call it a homage to a move called the boondock saints which features some very similar scenes with a similar theme it extends the songs meaning as well as vissualy interpretaing the lyrics of the song
it also uses several editing techniques such as "hewing" and very quick and snappy scenes.

My Top 3 Music Videos Uno!

ahoy there today im going to discuss some of my favourite music videos and then analyse them for future studys alright lets begin

Mumford & Sons - little lion man

Mumford & Sons adopting a mix of folk and irish pub music have proceeded to recreate some in
there own little style which has proven insanely popular with a very large audience quickly reaching over 2 million views in 1 week on youtube.
The style of the video i believe is very unique i dont know any music video thats anything like it they seem to have it based in some hall of sorts which seems to be empty with hanging light bulbs in beatuiful patterns all around the hall it features heavily on the band memebers and then onwards to there instrumants which matches the tone of the music it then moves up a beat to a medium paning shot from right to left showing them playing to a crowd which isnt there.
the convenstions used in this video include interpretative and i would even say a surrealist aspect is included
the filming and editing techiques present in this video include paning shots close ups medium shots long shots and many others however there is one worthy of note
1. the pan from right to left behind the band it pans from left to right then again about 2 minutes in from left to right showing that the stage is empty but they are still playing towards it
